Kidwelly Castle Proposal

My proposal for Kidwelly 2012 was recently accepted, I am in the process of making the mould for the piece. The exhibition 'Kidwelly 2012' will open in June.

Carnac Man

I have made Carnac Man several times in Cast Iron and Bronze. The piece was inspired by drawings from Carnac in Brittany. In making this piece I exploited the sand moulding process by carving into a blank cope and drag sand box, i.e. I did not model a positive object but carved into a negative sand mould. When I opened the mould I saw the form for the first time. Two limited editions of this piece have been produced.

Shopping for Silicone

On a flight to New Orleans I was reading two separate articles about breast cancer and silicone implants. When I arrived I bought some silicone kitchen bowls and made this simple torso. I then made a sandmould of it and cast it in Iron. The Iron pour did not pour perfectly but I presented it with all its defects. The risers and gates in the mould were left and became a handle for the form, hence the title 'Shopping for Silicone'. The two objects are displayed side by side.

Time Team - Blaenafon

Time Team. The Lost Viaduct.
Series 8, Episode 5. 2001.

Time Team came to Blaenafon in South Wales, to look for the worlds first railway viaduct.
Harvey worked with the team to cast the Time Team logo, and cartwheels in Cast Iron.
